Students and teachers at Brookeside Montessori School combined their craft skills and creativity to create this collaborative project. The wreath is on display at Glick's Greenhouse near Oley and we're happy to report that we won third place for creativity!
PM Kindergarten students studied the Skeletal System in science. They learned five major bones: the skull, humerus, ribs, pelvis and femur. Students learned some songs that correlated with the Skeletal System such as “Heads, Shoulders Knees and Toes” but using the bones that we learned “Skull, Humerus, Pelvis, Femur.”
For Veteran’s Day, PM kindergarten and Mrs. Marks’ enrichment class enjoyed a visit from Veteran SMSgt George Fritz. He talked to the students about the importance of taking care of the flag, respecting the flag and how to fold a flag.
Migrating Monarchs. In September the Brookeside Montessori Elementary class met with Ron Richael, a local expert on butterflies. Mr. Richael showed the children his butterfly garden. He reviewed the life cycle of a butterfly and discussed the plants that are important to caterpillars and butterflies.
Preschool and Enrichment students at Brookeside Montessori School have been busy this November! They learned about testing and mapping their taste buds during our systems of the body unit in health class, and watched a hot air balloon near our school -- just in time for our science unit on air, land and water!
