This week in Miss Poley’s class, we made sunflowers out of paper plates, bubble wrap, construction paper, and paint.
We learned about the life cycle of a sunflower, parts of the flower and read a story about how to grow sunflowers in our garden. During our cooking project, we made sunflowers out of food! We used celery as the stem, red grapes as the seeds of a sunflower, and cheese and mangoes were used to create the flower petals.
As a culminating activity, we acted as scientists and dissected a real sunflower!
