Hooray for summertime!

Here at Brookeside, our campers celebrated the 4th of July with songs and cheer for the red, white, and blue!

We kicked off our week with popping and sparkly painted fireworks. Campers made patriotic and decorative hanging ornaments for our classroom and American flags out of Popsicle sticks. We demonstrated our pride in freedom as we created Statue of Liberty hats. During our Picnic at the Park week, we also incorporated a lemonade stand since it is the perfect, refreshing summer drink. We made lemonade and raspberry lemon muffins and sold them at our “lemonade stand.” Each camper got a turn to sell and buy from the lemonade stand using real money (that was given from and returned to the teachers). Campers had to practice counting money and identifying different coins and bills. Lastly, we took a field trip to Washington Township Park to play and have a Fourth of July picnic. Thank you to all the parents who donated food and volunteered. Our field trips are not possible without you! We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday.
