The PM enrichment class at Brookeside Montessori has been hard at work in March!

Our map skills are being built one lesson at a time: first the houses, then the town! Each home pictured has the photo of a child waving from the doorway or window. We not only created the houses and the businesses in our nearby town(s) we also used the hallway to create PA Route 100 and map the towns from Bally to Gilbertsville along the way! Included are restaurants, stores, businesses and homes.

Our faves– the library (kudos to Mrs. McConomy Rand, the children’s librarian) and the car wash! Not pictured, but equally fun was our map game. Using a large hand drawn map of our school, we used an “X” to mark the spot and hid “leprechaun treasure” for pairs of students to find using their indoor orienteering skills! Also pictured, students discovering that black washable ink contains many rainbow colors– using markers, filter paper, water, and eyedroppers.
