Naturally sweet and high in fiber, carrots are a great source of vitamin A and beta-carotene. Vitamin A is vital for vision as it forms part of a protein that absorbs light in the eye. It also supports cell growth and is essential in heart, lung, and kidney function. Carrots are great for dental health as they kill harmful germs in the mouth and prevent tooth decay.
Romanesco is a hybrid vegetable belonging to the Brassicaceae family and is enriched with vitamin A, which is essential to the proper function of our eyes. It contains cancer-fighting plant compounds and omega-3 fatty acids optimizing blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and cholesterol.
Radishes are packed with vitamin C and are a superfood with benefits such as preventing cavities and keeping your teeth strong, purifying the urinary system, maintaining healthy blood pressure, relieving congestion, and offering respiratory support.
Last week we held Grandparent Visitation Day. Students in each classroom were able to invite Grandparents or Grandfriends to visit during the school day. Activities varied from homemade snacks to share, playing games, and conducting interviews. It was a special time and we were so glad to host our visitors!
