The children at Brookeside Montessori School started their day talking about how each one of them can help the earth – even in a small way.
They had great ideas like turning off the water when they brush their teeth, watching less tv, eating foods that are naturally grown, and planting flowers and trees.
They also had a lot of fun playing a relay race recycling game. They did a terrific job putting all of the recycling materials into the correct bins. The Kindergarten children made beautiful earth sun-catchers to put in their windows at home and the Pre-Kindergarten children made Earth Day necklaces.
Brookeside’s child-centered educational environment provides activities and a Pennsylvania state approved curriculum appropriate to each child’s developmental stage. The integrated curricula are guided by a highly trained staff, who are aware of the needs of the individual child.
