Water Cooler Posters
Brookeside Montessori Elementary and Kindergarten students designed "water cooler" posters. The purpose of this art project supports Brookeside's healthy lifestyles policy and encourages all of our students to drink more water!
Chick Hatching Project
The morning Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten class children were mother hens for two weeks as they took care of 12 baby chicks. Farmer Larry from Quiver Farms delivered 12 eggs, taught us how to take care of them, and also brought Henry and Henrietta, a hen and rooster, for a visit to our room. SUCCESS!! We had a perfect hatch with 12 beautiful chicks born mostly during class time!
Our Elementary Class is Electrifying!
The Elementary students at Brookeside Montessori School concluded a unit of study in science on Energy and Conservation. Projects included building a simple circuit as well and figuring out how many kilowatt hours major appliances in their house use. These projects opened up discussion for conserving energy and costs.
Salsa Dance Lessons – Kindergarten
Prekindergarten and Kindergarten learned to Salsa dance in Spanish Class. They began trying the basic step alone. By the end of the class, they could dance- and spin- with a partner! Experiments with Light
Students in Brookeside Montessori's PM Enrichment Class experiment with light to create reflections, rainbows, and shadows. Further science experiments to follow include light energy, heat, and evaporation.
