Caterpillars to Butterfly Release

Mrs. John's Pre-K and Kindergarten class had lots of fun today with their "Butterfly Release". For the last six weeks, the children have been watching the caterpillars grow and make their miraculous change into Painted Lady Butterflies. The weather was perfect - warm and sunny. We all watched as they flew over the field to find a new home!

Homemade Dog and Cat Treats Project

Brookeside Montessori School Pre-K and Kindergarten students baked homemade, healthy dog and cat treats. They bagged and sold the treats to raise money for the animals in the Montgomery County SPCA. The children used their math skills to measure ingredients and then had fun using dog-shaped cookie cutters to get the treats ready for baking. It was a fun way for the children to learn to give back to their community.
