Homemade Dog and Cat Treats Project

Brookeside Montessori School Pre-K and Kindergarten students baked homemade, healthy dog and cat treats. They bagged and sold the treats to raise money for the animals in the Montgomery County SPCA. The children used their math skills to measure ingredients and then had fun using dog-shaped cookie cutters to get the treats ready for baking. It was a fun way for the children to learn to give back to their community.

Farmer Larry from Quiver Farms delivered 12 eggs, taught us how to take care of them, and also brought Henry and Henrietta, a hen and rooster, for a visit to our room. SUCCESS!! We had a perfect hatch with 12 beautiful chicks born mostly during class time!
