A Visit From The Smile Specialists

Try talking without having your tongue touch your teeth. You sound pretty silly, don't you?

The students in the Elementary class sure did! They learned that not only do your teeth help with chewing your food, but they are equally important for communicating. Dr. Sarah Pavlow, a local orthodontist, and her assistant Robin recently visited the students and shared facts about teeth and the steps we need to take to ensure that they are healthy.

For the Birds!

This fall the Elementary students at Brookeside Montessori enjoyed lessons and activities on different bird species. Looking through the regurgitated parts it was exciting to find bones. We also went on a field trip to Hawk Mountain. It was a beautiful day for a hike and a picnic. Students relied on the guides to point out the different migrating birds and eagerly looked on through their binoculars.

Who can tell me the name of a famous American?

On October 6 the Brookeside Montessori Elementary class visited Art Fusion, 254 E. High Street, Pottstown, PA. The students viewed the latest exhibit Her Story, an educational show featuring artwork inspired by women’s history. Miss Julie read a story about women's suffrage, Marching with Aunt Susan. Afterwards the students were tasked to pick an important cause, develop a slogan, and then create a banner. "Who can tell me the name of a famous American?" The students have some amazing answers for that question now.
