Geography, map skills, and problem-solving activities were the focus of the first week of camp. Campers learned about time zones, climate, and geographical features. On Friday, June 7 we had a visit from Allison of Party Animals Express.
Last month students in the Elementary class released three Painted Lady butterflies which they raised from teeny-tiny caterpillars. Students formed a circle of well-wishes to watch their butterflies fly over the field to find a new home.
Last month the Afternoon Enrichment class studied earthworms. Worms are great composters and enrich the soil in our school garden. Mrs. Marks and the students observed the worms in their classroom. They students watched closely to see how the worms move their bodies. Then the students completed diagrams that show the parts of a worm.
May 22, 2019 was graduation day for the Kindergarten Class at Brookeside Montessori School. The graduation ceremony was held outside on a beautiful spring afternoon. Parents, grandparents, and friends attended this happy event. The children wore caps and gowns and proudly walked to Pomp and Circumstance.
The students and staff at Brookeside Montessori School honored Erika Hornburg on Monday, May 20. Miss Erika has been the art teacher at Brookeside for 19 years and is retiring at the end of this school year.
