Marie Conti, M. Ed., presented a workshop entitled, “Parenting: Who’s in Charge Here?” to interested parents and staff Monday evening, April 16 at Brookeside Montessori.
Ms. Conti, who is the Head of School at The Wetherill School in Gladwyne, PA, an instructor at Chestnut Hill College, and former Senior Director of School Accreditation of the American Montessori Society has over 40 years experience in Montessori education. Her workshop focused on discipline and setting boundaries while allowing the child freedom in a setting prepared by the parent. Parents got information on how to deal effectively with whining, meltdowns, anger, and sibling rivalry. Following the presentation, Ms. Conti answered individual parent questions.
Brookeside’s child-centered educational environment provides activities and a Pennsylvania state approved curriculum appropriate to each child’s developmental stage. The integrated curricula are guided by a highly trained staff, who are aware of the needs of the individual child.
Enrollment is ongoing as space is available.
