Recently the students in the PreK and Kindergarten classes traveled to Frecon Orchards.
On our tour of the orchard, students learned the parts of an apple, how an apple tree grows, and how the tree produces fruit. The students were taught how to pick an apple properly and picked several different varieties of apples that grow in the orchard. After our tour, we enjoyed apple cider and donuts! Later in the week we used some of the apples to make applesauce.
Brookeside’s child-centered educational environment provides activities and a Pennsylvania state approved curriculum appropriate to each child’s developmental stage. The integrated curricula are guided by a highly trained staff, who are aware of the needs of the individual child.
