The curtains have closed, the lights are out, and the Big Top has slowly folded to the ground!
What another fun week here at Brookeside for our theme “Under the Big Top”.
We started off our week by making cotton candy crafts out of puffy paint and circus clown faces dazzled with glitter and sparkly pom-poms. We learned that circus performers are no competition for our campers as we balanced across a “tight rope” and practiced taming “tigers”. We made sure to leave no part of the circus behind while we made elephant puppets, jumping ponies, carnival masks, and buttered popcorn crafts for our audience. Lastly but certainly not least, we celebrated by having our very own circus on the playground. The campers participated in several circus games and activities such as ring toss, win-a-“fish”, crawling through “flaming hoops”, walking on coffee can stilts, water balloon toss, and bowling pin squirters. We even got to make our own big top tent with the parachute and enjoy popcorn as a traditional circus snack. Nothing like clowning around on a Friday!
Thank you to all the parents who volunteered at our circus and helped to make it such a success!
