May 25, 2016 was graduation day for the Kindergarten Class at Brookeside Montessori. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cake, lemonade, and a delicious fruit salad which the Kindergarten made. Congratulations and Good Luck Kindergarten!
Field Day was Fabulous! All students and staff of Brookeside Montessori took part in our fabulous Field Day on Tuesday, May 17, 2016! We participated in eight field events including water relay, pool noodle javelin, Statue of Liberty relay, obstacle course and many more!
The Brookeside Montessori School Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten class made and sold dog treats as a fundraiser for the SPCA of Montgomery County. We took the money and bought dog, cat, hamster, guinea pig, rabbit, and ferret food and delivered it to the animals in the shelter at the SPCA of Montgomery County.
Each year the students at Brookeside Montessori work on collaborative art pieces that will be auctioned. The proceeds from the auction benefit the Home & School Association (HSA). This year HSA purchased new playground equipment, sponsored school assemblies, and provided for special classroom projects.
Did you know that dirt made your lunch? On Earth Day students learned another important fact that the soil is a filter for our drinking water. Using a recycled plastic bottle, small rocks, and soil the students built a filter to replicate what the Earth does.
