These brave and helpful community servants visited our school for Fire Prevention Month.
Our little guys gazed with wonder at the TIRES of the truck– which were taller than they! In addition, they were also deeply interested in the giant scissors used in metal rescue, the hoses and hose attachments and rows of shiny controls! Firefighters reviewed: STOP, DROP, and ROLL, what to do in a smoky room, and what a firefighter looks and sounds like if they come into a building to help you. Our students were completely astounded to discover that firefighter Megan, a young, smiling, friendly woman was inside all that gear when she removed her air and helmet to greet them!
Brookeside’s child-centered educational environment provides activities and a Pennsylvania state approved curriculum appropriate to each child’s developmental stage. The integrated curricula are guided by a highly trained staff, who are aware of the needs of the individual child.
