National School Choice Week, held this year from January 20-26, 2019. This is an annual event shining a spotlight on effective education options for children. Participants in National School Choice Week believe that parents should have the right to choose the best educational environment for their children.
Santa's visit to Brookeside! There is nothing like being cozy, singing holiday songs, and eating a delicious snack! This is exactly what we did last Friday when Santa made a special visit to our buzzing classroom. It was a true gift to see many faces light up and hear giggles fill the room.
The Kindergarten and Elementary students had a great time learning about Hanukkah from Mrs. Ashcom. The students heard a story about the holiday, saw the lighting of a Menorah, ate fried matzah, and played the dreidel game.
Last month a pilgrim and a live turkey came to Brookeside Montessori School! This program from Quiver Farms is an annual tradition. The students hear the story about the first Thanksgiving. Then they enjoy activities about the foods the pilgrims would have eaten and the tools they would have used. It’s a great holiday show!
Last month the Brookeside Montessori Home and School Association held their annual walk-a-thon fundraiser. It was a great success! The students raised just over $1,000. Some of the money will be used to purchase new cabinets for an art room makeover.
