The students and staff at Brookeside Montessori School honored Erika Hornburg on Monday, May 20. Miss Erika has been the art teacher at Brookeside for 19 years and is retiring at the end of this school year.

Students, families, and teachers participated in our annual Field Day on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. The events included parachute games, a water relay, pool noodle javelin, sack races, and the duck pond, a favorite of many students! After the events the students enjoyed a picnic lunch.
Brookeside Montessori School International Festival 2019. The students in Kindergarten-Grade 6 participated in this annual event. Students shared their projects with the school community, practicing public speaking skills. The highlight of the event for many in the school community is the food. Each student with the help of their family prepared and shared a recipe.
This weeks' healthy snack: sugar snap pea! Sugar snap peas are flat pea pods that grow during the cool season. They are crisp and have a sweet flavor and contain a wealth of vitamins and other nutrients that help to improve the health of the heart and bones.
On Friday, April 5 Krista Spadt, of Simple Gifts Project, came to Brookeside Montessori School. She explained to the students that Simple Gifts Project spreads kindness and smiles to children that need to stay in a hospital.
