In September the Elementary class met with Ron Richael, a local expert on butterflies. Mr. Richael showed the children his butterfly garden. He reviewed the life cycle of a butterfly and discussed the plants that are important to caterpillars and butterflies.
Mr. Richael also explained how Monarch butterflies migrate to Mexico at this time of the year. Mr. Richael collected and tagged Monarchs from his garden. The students and teachers helped release them. Most of the butterflies flew southwest, possibly starting their trek to Mexico!

Enrollment is ongoing as space is available.
