Students at Brookeside Montessori School near Boyertown recently harvested tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, turnips and onions from their garden which was planted last spring.  Students took turns scrubbing, peeling and chopping the vegetables and then prepared a vegetable soup to enjoy.  Gardening is a large part of the curriculum in the fall and spring and students enjoy hands-on lessons outdoors in the garden.
