Bause Catered Events provides local (when possible) fresh fruit and veggie snacks for each classroom once a week from October through April. Their program includes education snack cards for the teachers which highlight child-friendly nutrition information, as well as history and growing information for the snack being provided that day. They will deliver these delicious and healthy classroom-portioned fresh snacks to Brookeside every Wednesday. Funding for this program is provided through a grant from the Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation!
A new study published in the British Medical Journal found that increased consumption of fruits and vegetables positively influences well-being. According to the study, these benefits include positive mental well-being such as “optimism, happiness, self-esteem, resilience, and a good relationship with others.”
Broookeside Montessori is proud to be able to offer this program to its students as part of our ongoing effort to promote good physical and mental health in our students, their families, and our staff!
